Electric Baseboard Heating in BC
BC has a large number of older homes, with many in Metro Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, that use electric baseboard heat. If that’s your home, a few things to know:
- BC Hydro programs for baseboard thermostats have been available in some program years but not all. Verify the current list.
- Mysa and Sinopé are the smart thermostat options for baseboard heating. Nest and ecobee won’t work.
- FortisBC programs won’t apply (those are for gas customers).
